Heathrow Airport welcomes new flights to Austria
Heathrow Airport has expanded its busy flight schedules from the UK with a new flight to Salzburg.
The first from the London airport took off yesterday (November 1). The new flights are said to start operating twice a week on both Wednesday and Saturdays. They are to arrive from Salzburg at 1.50pm, and depart from London at 2.35pm.
All of the services are planned with an A319 aircraft, configured to 180 seats.
Simon Eastburn, airline business development director at Heathrow, said: “As ski season approaches, we’re delighted to welcome this new flight to Salzburg with Eurowings, an exciting destination for passengers looking for a winter holiday.”
Eurowings is headquartered in Cologne and serves a network of domestic and European destinations as well as some long-haul routes. The fastest growing airline in Europe already operates flights to Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Berlin from Heathrow.
Ivan Orec, network development and airport relations manager for Eurowings, added: “We are pleased to announce our new Heathrow service to Salzburg, Austria.
“The new link to Salzburg will operate twice a week in addition to our five routes from Heathrow. We will continue to grow our network and to bring more passengers to Heathrow airport.”
Fares start from £44.99 one-way including taxes and charges.
