The Fun Shack Group to open new play park in Newcastle
Plans have been released for a new 70,000 sq. ft leisure complex, set to open in Newcastle early next year.
The Fun Shack Group, which currently operates three separate family indoor leisure businesses, will transform an empty warehouse in Benfield Business Park, Newcastle into an indoor adventure park.
With a portfolio boasting one of Europe’s largest indoor playgrounds, The Fun Shack Group’s new site will feature a Fun Shack children’s indoor play centre and Clip N Climb climbing centre alongside the new park.
Latest plans for the complex are focused on a pirate theme play centre, complete with a pirate battle ship, pirate village and slide.
The site will also boast the largest four story playframe in the North East, high ropes crossings, a cannonball arena, rubber dingy slides, a football pitch and a ‘Tiny Tots’ area specifically for younger family members.
Opening in February 2018, management are hoping to create 100 jobs in the North East, with a range of roles including front of house, catering and management positions. The group currently employs over 140 people, all of which are based in the region.
Stuart Freeman, director at Fun Shack Group said, “We can’t wait to welcome young swashbucklers along to enjoy the newest addition to the Fun Shack family – Fun Shack and Jump 360 are already very popular in the wider region and we know that families are going to be hooked as soon as they see what we have in store.”
The new site will be the third Fun Shack playcentre in the North East, with popular centres currently open in Seaham and Stockton. Jump 360 trampoline parks are currently open in Newcastle, Stockton and Hartlepool.
Further details on the site will be announced in November 2017
