Leeds digital agency to hit £16m turnover mark amid Northern Powerhouse digital growth

twentysix, Leeds-based digital agency, is expected to hit the £16m turnover mark this new year following an array of new business wins.

MSQ Partners’ lead digital agency has recently won new client Riviera Travel to add to a portfolio of clients that includes global consumer products giant Proctor & Gamble; Mercedes-Benz, Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Paris-based Antalis.

This growth has seen twentysix ascend the Econsultancy Top 100 Digital Agencies Report, which lists the UK’s top 100 digital marketing, design and build, technical and creative businesses by fee income.

Econsultancy also ranked twentysix 43rd in its latest report, up from 48 last year and 55 in 2015.

The full service agency, which works across all digital disciplines from complex and creative design and build websites and content strategies through to SEO, PPC and analytics, started with six staff and turnover of £500k in 2006.

twentysix now has a 150-strong team and its growth over the last 11 years has been fueled by the adoption of multinational partnerships with brands such as episerver (twentysix is a Premium Partner), Google and DoubleClick.

Gail Dudleston, chief executive of twentysix, said: “More and more global and national businesses are looking outside London when it comes to digital agencies and that’s a great credit to the talent and quality of firms in the North.

“The digital sector is at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse and is thriving. Digital agencies in the North are winning new clients because of their quality, it is not down to cost.

She added: “I think salaries in digital are comparable between London and Leeds.”

A recent report from the Northern Powerhouse Partnership highlighted how the North’s economy can be transformed by sectors such as digital.

A total of 60% of twentysix’s clients are global organisations and it is one of eight agencies nationally that have remained on the Government Communication Framework.

twentysix is part of MSQ Partners, one of the top ten independent agency groups in the UK.
