Exact Abacus Upgrades Warehouse Fleet
Exact Abacus, the Chorley-based order fulfilment and technology provider has invested in a fleet of Crown Wave order picker trucks for its Matrix Park operations. With over 40 new contracts secured so far in 2017, the fast-growing business has also upgraded its warehouse management systems to increase efficiency and yield from the existing footprint.
Over 125,000 different products are stored in high and Very Narrow Aisle (‘VNA’) format which demands specialist handling equipment to operate in busy, confined spaces; the new Wave trucks enable stock to be picked for orders from locations as high as 5m. With no requirement for rolling ladders and enhanced mobility, operatives are able to present items to packing stations in half the time as previous.
In addition to safety benefits, usable pick storage space has been increased by 35% and the business expects a return on investment within 8 months.
