New team at the top as Darlington Business Club goes for growth
One of the North East’s longest-running networking organisations has appointed a new board as it enters a new era and announces plans for its growth.
Darlington Business Club has been running for over 25 years and meets monthly at various venues in and around Darlington.
The club currently has around 100 members but the recently appointed, new team hopes to double this number in the coming year.
The new board is made up of four directors, who all give their services voluntarily.
Sharon Hutchinson will be stepping up to be chair and managing director of Darlington Business Club, Jeff Fitzpatrick has been appointed as membership director, Jayson Gurney becomes the marketing director and Valerie Palmer will be responsible for managing the club’s branding and hosting.
All four directors are from the local area and were members of the committee prior to taking on these director roles.
Sharon Hutchinson said: “As we head for a new era of growth, we felt that it was important to have a committee in place with clear responsibilities. Our overall aim is to improve value for our members, increase membership and host more events in the local business community. We’ll also be re-designing our website and providing our members with more benefits in the coming months.”
Jeff Fitzpatrick said: “Previous committees have worked incredibly hard to make Darlington Business Club the tremendous success that it has become. The very fact that it has existed for nearly 20 years is testament to that. We’re now planning for an exciting future as we’re hosting some very high-profile events. We’re always keen for new members to join us and they can visit us for free to see how we work.”
As well as its monthly meetings, Darlington Business Club holds an annual ‘Business Expo’ event at the Northern Echo Arena in Darlington to showcase dozens of local companies and organisations and has recently partnered with the North East Chamber of Commerce for Darlington Business Week.
