York IT business 'completely outstripped expectations' after surpassing £2m turnover mark

PowerOn, the York-based IT automation specialist, has seen its turnover almost double to over £2m and also recruited 11 new team members during the past year.

The company, which now employs 27 people, provides IT management and cloud automation solutions to organisations of all sizes.

PowerOn was founded in 2015 by IT professionals Phil Mercer and Steve Beaumont.

Other highlights for the year include relocating its York-headquarters to Stanley Harrison House, which forms part of The Chocolate Works, to complement its offices in Lincolnshire and Surrey.

PowerON also became one of only a few firms in the world to be invited to join Microsoft’s Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) Elite Partner Team, and now assists the world’s largest software maker in developing both new and existing products.

Phil Mercer, PowerON’s solutions and services director, said: “The last 12 months have been hugely successful and we completely outstripped expectations following notable contract wins across both the public and private sectors.

“In another major development, we’ve recently acquired the intellectual property rights for cloud-based IT infrastructure monitoring product, Tibana from Nubigenus, which we have incorporated into our Pulse Product Suite.

“This will support our continued drive to bring our product business to the fore, with several very innovative subscription based products that we have developed coming to market this year.

“A notable product is our Pulse Device Management & Security Platform, that will transform the way that our customers can modernise clients to Windows 10 and manage and secure their client devices. This makes it a very exciting time for us and we’re now planning to create at least eight new jobs over the coming months.”
