Site managers recognised for outstanding work in South Wales

A Barratt Homes site manager in South Wales has been named a regional winner in the Pride in the Job Awards and a second has been awarded a prestigious Seal of Excellence Award.

John Popple, who is overseeing construction of new homes in Barry, has been named a regional winner and now goes forward to the Supreme Awards in January.

In addition, Paul Oakley has been awarded a Seal of Excellence award for his work at Manor Park in Penarth.

Barratt managing director Steve Williams said he was thrilled with the success of the site managers in South Wales in the Pride in the Job Awards and was particularly pleased that Paul has received the Seal of Excellence, the next level up in the national awards and John is a regional winner.

“We have a long tradition of producing top quality and award winning site managers and these regional accolades for quality are tremendous recognition for the efforts of our teams.’’

He said the awards demonstrate that Barratt Homes’ construction teams continue to lead the industry.

“Site managers play a pivotal role in delivering high quality new homes and this recognition demonstrates our dedication and commitment to building new homes of the very highest standard.’’

The Pride in the Job awards are the most coveted in the industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body NHBC (National House-Building Council) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality developments.

Thousands of site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

This award comes on the back of Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for customer satisfaction. Barratt is the only major national housebuilder to be ranked as five star by the HBF for the last eight years.
