Diversity Travel helps customers avoid new GDS booking fee

Diversity Travel has reached an agreement with British Airways and Iberia that will see its customers avoid the new GDS booking fee.

The agreement applies to bookings made through the Amadeus system and means that Diversity’s clients will not be affected by the £8 per leg surcharge recently implemented by IAG (British Airways and Iberia’s parent company) on bookings made via the GDS, which came into effect on November 1st.

Christopher Airey, managing director at Diversity Travel, commented: “We understand the technological advances in distribution and the benefits they offer, and back efforts to improve content options for consumers. This agreement ensures that our academic and charity clients continue to receive the most competitive fares and content, whilst also underlining our commitment to NDC and future distribution channel development.”
