‘Dynamic and ambitious’ construction consultancy doubles Liverpool footprint

Property and construction consultancy Gleeds is expanding in Liverpool to accommodate its growing workforce.

The company will double the size of its city centre footprint when it relocates from Edmund Street to new offices at 4 St Paul’s Square in the business district.

The move, Gleeds said, follows a 25% increase in staff numbers over the last year.

The business is the first to secure space at the Grade-A scheme since it was acquired earlier this year by Aberdeen Asset Management in a £18.7m deal.

Gleeds’ director for Liverpool, Paul Boyle, said of the relocation: “This is a really exciting time for our business following our 10-year anniversary in the city in 2016.

“Not only do we see this as a great investment for the city, we’re also immensely excited about the potential it gives our people.”

He continued: “We are investing heavily in expanding our Liverpool business and plan to have doubled the size of our team in the next couple of years. This will further boost our ability to support project delivery within the City Region and right across the North West.”

Liverpool’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr Ann O’Byrne, commented: “I am delighted to hear the news that Gleeds is expanding their professional services successfully and even more so that they have chosen office space in Liverpool City Centre at St Paul’s square as a base for their work across the North West.”

She added: “This demonstrates that the City has a sound offer to the professional business community. I would like to wish them every success at their new home.”

The joint agents on 4 St Paul’s, CBRE and Worthington Owen, are now transforming areas of the building following its acquisition by Aberdeen Asset Management.

Their plans include redesigning the entranceway and splitting up some areas to create more flexible workspace for startups.

Worthington Owen director Andrew Owen said: “Gleeds is a dynamic and ambitious business and will significantly bolster an already impressive portfolio of tenants at 4 St Paul’s Square.
