Hewlett Packard Enterprise chief to speak at IoD Christmas lunch

The vice president of tech giant Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) will address business leaders at the Institute of Directors (IoD) North Wales annual Christmas lunch.

David Chalmers, vice president and chief technologist at HPE, will give delegates an insight into the future of technology’s role in business.

The festive lunch, jointly held with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Cymru Wales, will also involve a networking session for IoD members and non-members alike.

David’s role at HPE involves spotting changes in the industry to keep up with consumer demands. He works closely with the company’s corporate sales team to provide customers with innovative tech solutions.

He has more than 36 years’ experience in the business technology sector, having worked as European technology director for mid range business at IBM.

The tech expert has also run the European technology centre for Sequent Computer Systems, where he worked on high-end concepts of IT performance.

Chair of IoD North Wales Helen Watson said: “The Christmas lunch is a mainstay in the IoD’s networking calendar and we’re excited to be welcoming David as this year’s speaker.

“Technology has revolutionised the way we do business in such a short space of time, and I know our members are fascinated about where it could go in the future.

“David’s expertise in the tech sector is unrivalled and he’ll be showing us how new technology is expected to change the way we work, as well as discuss software and hardware that hasn’t even been created yet..

“We’re holding the lunch with ACCA Cymru to give wider networking opportunities for all at the event, which we expect to sell out quickly.”

Tickets cost £35 plus VAT for members and £45 plus VAT for non-members.
