Mercia announces opening of new office in Leeds city centre
Mercia Fund Managers, part of Mercia Technologies PLC, has opened a new office in Leeds city centre.
The office, located in the new Platform building on New Station Street, is its second in Yorkshire. The business already has an office in Sheffield.
This announcement comes just one month after Mercia Technologies PLC’s fund management subsidiaries, which include Enterprise Ventures and Mercia Fund Management, rebranded to Mercia Fund Managers.
To mark the opening, Mercia held a networking event at La Bottega Milanese, which was attended by more than 40 people from the SME and advisory community.
The event helped to raise awareness of the capital which Mercia is now able to invest in the region, including equity and loans from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF), on behalf of the British Business Bank.
Mercia operates seven other regional offices including Sheffield, Manchester, Edinburgh, Preston, Liverpool, Birmingham and its head office in Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire.
Julian Viggars, NPIF equity fund manager and head of technologies at Mercia Fund Managers, said: “This is an exciting time for Mercia as we continue to build our team of experienced investment specialists and expand in Yorkshire.
“As part of our ambitious growth plans, we are looking forward to seeing the exciting opportunities from the region which we can invest in and help drive further growth across the North of England.”
