Business leader appointed new voluntary position at Changing Lives

A regional business leader from chartered accountancy firm Haines Watts has been appointed to the finance sub-committee for national charity, Changing Lives.

Donna Bulmer, Managing Partner, at Haines Watts North East, has long-standing experience of the charity sector and will use her expertise to help Changing Lives with finance and governance matters which will enable the charity to carry on its good work in the North East and across the UK.

Changing Lives is a national, registered charity which provides specialist support services for 21,000 vulnerable people and their families every year. It helps people to make positive, lasting changes in their lives.

As part of the voluntary finance sub committee role, Donna will be helping the charity look at a range of areas including new ventures, audit findings and clarity around areas of good governance.

The finance sub-committee meets on a quarterly basis at the charity’s head office in Team Valley, Gateshead.

Speaking about the new position, Donna said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed to the finance sub-committee at Changing Lives. I was asked to join the sub-committee following of my long-history working with charities and not for profit organisations across the UK so I’m thrilled to be onboard to share my expertise.

“Changing Lives is a wonderful charity that works tirelessly to help people transform their lives for the better - including those experiencing homelessness, women in need and those who require employment or training opportunities. I’m pleased to be able to help the charity continue their valuable work.”

Donna is already a Treasurer and Trustee of the Streetwise Project, an award-winning regional charity which offers an informal, safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for young people aged 11-25 years.

With two offices in the North East - Newcastle and Darlington - Haines Watts acts on behalf of a wide range of charities across the region.
