Car Drivers Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day

According to a recent poll, 12 per cent of car drivers are Christmas fanatics and wish it could be Christmas every day as they happily listen to their favourite seasonal songs all year round.

Meanwhile, 33 per cent of drivers patiently wait for Halloween to finish and then swop Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas’.

However, nearly half of the drivers surveyed said they wait until the 1st December to turn up their festive favourites.

Why Scrooge can rest easy knowing 2 per cent of drivers state they never listen to Christmas music, Chris Rea’s can rejoice knowing 4 per cent of people will be ‘Driving Home For Christmas’ on Christmas Eve singing along to his classic.

LeasingOptions.co.uk Brand Manager, Mike Thompson said: “Nothing gets Christmas started like the sound of our favourite festive songs. It’s clear to see that for some – the Christmas car singalong can’t start early enough.

“Gone are the days where people only celebrate the 12 days’ of Christmas. As soon as the Halloween ghosts and ghouls are removed, we see the introduction of Santa sacks, mince pies and clearly Christmas CDs getting turned up loud to get us in the mood for the festive fun.

The survey asked 3547 people when they like to start playing Christmas music in their car and the overall results were as follows:

  1. 1st December – 48%

  2. Day after Halloween – 33%

  3. All year round – 12%

  4. Christmas Eve – 4%

  5. Never – 2%
