Gaming-tech business expands to larger offices in Leeds city centre's flagship Platform building
A gaming technology business, specialising in interactive entertainment software, has relocated to larger offices at Bruntwood’s new Leeds city centre building - Platform.
KwizzBit, the interactive quiz provider, completed the move following the appointment of new recruit, Elliott Hart.
With a background in hospitality management, Elliott joins KwizzBit as a sales executive.
Located above Leeds train station, Platform offers a collaborative, co-working environment alongside 42 serviced offices and full floor plates for larger companies.
The newly launched building is also set to be home to the city’s new tech incubator designed to support startup and scaleup businesses from the region’s digital technology and creative sector.
Established in 2016 by founder and managing director Mark Walsh, KwizzBit is a cloud-based gaming platform which has expanded to a team of five in just its second year of business.
Following his recent appearance on BBC2’s Dragon’s Den, Mark has grown the business by 300%, having implemented KwizzBit in a further 200 venues across the UK.
Despite walking away from the show without investment, the business has since received funding worth £40k from the Business Enterprise Fund and government-backed, UK Start-up loans.
KwizzBit has been implemented in pubs and venues across the country, and aims to reach one million players by 2020.
The business has also recently secured a contract to supply the platform to a national firm, which will roll out KwizzBit to staff training workshops across the country.
Mark Walsh, founder and CEO of KwizzBit, said: “We are delighted to have welcomed Elliott to the KwizzBit team, and relocated to the Platform offices. There are a number of developments in the pipeline that will accelerate the platform and this is an extremely exciting time for us.”
“We are confident that Elliott will be a great addition to the team, we look forward to seeing his career progress at the company.”
“The workspace at Platform is fantastic, there is a real buzz about the place, with various businesses in different sectors utilising the space, there is a real energy for success.”
Craig Burrow, director of Leeds for Bruntwood, added: “Platform officially launched last week and we are delighted to welcome Kwizzbit to our community.
“We have no doubt that they will find it an inspiring environment in which to grow their business further, while enjoying the benefits of a building designed to stimulate creative thinking and collaborative working.”
