Forget Strictly… vote for James

Forget voting in Strictly or I’m a Celebrity this year, Northumberland Wildlife Trust is urging members of the public to vote for its feature blogger James Common in the UK Blog Awards 2018.

Northumberland naturalist and aspiring nature writer James is up for votes in the ‘Green & Eco’ and ‘Social Influencer’ categories with his aptly title blog: Common by Nature.

A true Northumbrian, James hails from Widdrington but now lives in Bedlington and has just graduated from Newcastle University with an MSc degree in Wildlife Management. Prior to that he undertook a BSc Degree in Animal Conservation Science at the University of Cumbria’s Penrith Campus.

His ‘Common by Nature’ blog has received commendations from BBC Wildlife Magazine and earned him a runner up placing at the 2016 Living North Awards, not to mention his contribution to two of the Wildlife Trust’s ‘Anthology for the Changing Season’s books and a recently formed e-magazine, ‘New Nature’. He writes monthly for Northumberland Wildlife Trust from many of the wildlife charity’s 60+ nature reserves, travelling to as many as possible by public transport to test their accessibility, and is a regular contributor to its member’s magazine. You can read his blog at: www.nwt.org.uk/blog

The UK Blog Awards 2018 are massive and James is up against some large companies, so the support of the people in this region would be very much appreciated.

Mike Pratt, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Chef Executive says: “Come on everybody, get voting for James and bring some silverware back to the North East. He’s a talented writer, big supporter of our charity and a hidden jewel in Northumberland’s crown and well worthy of national recognition.”

To vote, visit, https://www.blogawardsuk.co.uk/ukba2018/entries/common-nature The closing date is Friday 22nd December and, should James be successful, he will go forward to a judges vote with the winner being decided in February.
