North East filmmaker welcomes stars of Pakistani movie to Newcastle
North East-based actor and filmmaker Craig Conway welcomed the stars of an upcoming Pakistani movie to Newcastle this week.
Actors from the film Rangreza, which premieres worldwide on December 21, were in the city to discuss next year’s Newcastle Film Festival and talk about their work on the big screen.
Craig Conway returned to the region only recently, having wrapped filming on his latest flick, Final Score, in which he appears alongside ex-Bond Pierce Brosnan and former professional wrestler David Bautista.
Craig said: “It has been an absolute privilege to meet international movie stars Asrar, Gohar, Urwa and Bilal, get the chance to talk about our plans for the Newcastle Film Festival and their plans for their worldwide tour.
“We took them over to meet the students at Gateshead College and they are looking forward to meeting fans and the film buffs in the city.”
Craig will follow up his work on Final Score, written by Northern director Scott Mann, with his directorial debut in South Africa next year, when he will shoot his new film Krugar.
The Newcastle Film Festival will take place March 29 to April 1 2018, with Prince Michael of Kent revealed as the event’s ambassador.
