AmazonFresh Loses Top Executive to Gett Delivery

Gett Delivery, the on-demand delivery service from the app Gett, has announced the appointment of Malte Poppensieker, former Senior Manager of AmazonFresh, as Head of UK Delivery.

As Head of UK Delivery, Malte will be responsible for ensuring that Gett Delivery’s upcoming projects will be delivered to the firm’s clients and partners successfully, whilst maintaining profitability. This will involve putting in place the correct processes ahead of the future rollout of the on-demand courier service into additional London zones and cities in the UK, where Gett’s taxi hailing business is already in operation.

During his time at AmazonFresh, Malte was responsible for looking after the Corporate Operations team, leading the official launch across the UK and four other EU countries. This experience of scaling operations throughout Europe, will transfer directly to Gett as the firm grows in 2018. His knowledge of same-day delivery, a sector with very specific challenges, is particularly important for Gett Delivery, who provide an on-demand courier service, with a guaranteed 1-hour delivery offering.

On the news of the appointment, Matteo De Renzi, UK CEO of Gett, said “We are delighted to welcome Malte to the Gett Delivery team. His previous experience at AmazonFresh is particularly relevant for Gett Delivery at this point in time as the company looks to expand its services to other locations in the UK.”

Having rolled out a similar service for Amazon, we are assured that Malte will bring the relevant knowledge to make Gett’s offering a huge success.”

Previously, Malte held various consulting roles at Capgemini, the French multinational professional services and business consulting corporation, where he worked in process optimization and strategic projects. For example, analysing make-or-buy decisions for clients. He also has a MBA from Cambridge University.
