Christmas is captured at Kirkgate Shopping

The festive season is in full swing at Kirkgate Shopping with a range of activities running throughout December, for all the family to enjoy.

Santa Claus is back in Bradford’s only free grotto until Christmas Eve. Children can visit him throughout this month and enjoy the interactive scene outside of his home in the upper mall. Additionally, children still have time to post a letter to Santa before Christmas and receive a personalised response. People are also encouraged to donate to Kirkgate Shopping’s foodbank appeal through the charity boxes outside of Santa’s grotto.

For the 29th year Kirkgate Shopping has worked with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bradford on its annual Secret Santa appeal. More than 6000 gifts were donated to children less fortunate this Christmas by the Bradford public amounting to approximately £50k.

Catherine Riley, centre manager at Kirkgate Shopping said: “The Christmas period is something that we truly look forward to each year. Our annual traditions are recognised by the Bradford community and kicking off our celebrations with the Magical Reindeer Parade gets us in the festive spirit. We’re celebrating our 29th year working with JCI Bradford on their Secret Santa Appeal and it is a great feeling to know we have gifted thousands of children with items they may not have received otherwise.

“Christmas can get expensive and it’s lovely seeing families give back where they can. We like to help out at Christmas by offering excellent deals from our retailers and a free Christmas gift wrapping service to make the festive season that little less stressful”

Kirkgate Shopping has extended its opening hours for the Christmas period, full listings can be found at http://www.kirkgate.co.uk/visitor-information/opening-hours/
