Property specialists “excited to build” on charity support
A Leeds-based property solutions provider, ECO Integrated Property Solutions, has raised in excess of £7,650 and volunteered more than 150 hours over the last 12 months for charities including Bliss, Candlelighters and the Prince of Wales Hospice.
Managing director at ECO IPS, Andrew Walker, was inspired to use his industry knowledge in the renovation of the Candlelighters’ cottage in Leeds after his son was diagnosed with leukaemia at eight years old. The new project will create much-needed housing for families of children with cancer and is due to be completed next year.
Andrew said: “Supporting charities is such an integral part of the ECO IPS core values. This year we raised money, took part in crazy charity challenges and volunteered our time and expertise to not just one but four different initiatives. Choosing causes so close to the hearts of our team allows everyone to feel truly passionate about the organisations supported.”
Following the personal experience of the ECO IPS client services director, Robin Harris, one of the business’ longstanding core charities is Bliss, a dedicated organisation for babies born premature or sick. Robin regularly attends training days to talk about his experiences on the neo-natal ward helping to improve the nurses’ understanding of parents’ experiences.
During the summer two ECO IPS teams, The ECO Army and The ECO Mob, entered the annual Ackworth Pram Race, which this year raised thousands of pounds for the local Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract. The integrated property solutions team also raised £1,600 though its contractor network towards crowdfunding for ‘Hope for Honour’ and donated an Ian Botham picture for the charity auction.
“We take real pride in our CSR commitments and community involvement and are excited to continue building on our charity work in 2018. After our admiral performance this year, we’re also aiming to win the Ackworth Pram Race next summer!” Andrew added.
