Centrica Storage moves to new Hessle site

Hull-based Centrica Storage has now moved its Hedon office to a new, purpose-built 20,000 sq ft site at Bridgehead Business Park in Hessle.

The new, two-storey workplace, fitted out by Ben Johnson Interiors and designed by Box Architects to Centrica Storage specifications, has been created to reflect a more modern and collaborative style of working enabling digital-led working practices. Attention to detail and a high-quality fit-out was of great importance.

The building can accommodate up to 200 people bringing all Centrica Storage operational teams together under one roof.

Ben Johnson Interiors’ specialist fit-out team, led by project manager Mark Powell, spent 16 weeks transforming the empty building shell into a truly great place to work. The project was completed on time and to budget.

Meeting rooms and resource areas were designed along the central areas of the workspace on both floors to allow natural light for open plan working areas and keep banks of desks to a minimum depth.

A variety of partition walls divide the workplace into project areas, suspended ceilings were installed throughout and Ben Johnson Interiors fitted all services including feature lighting, electrics and mechanics.

Reception, meeting rooms, breakout spaces, kitchen areas and bathrooms were included in the fit-out, as well as all working areas. Ben Johnson Interiors carried out bespoke joinery work to include curved feature walls and storage walls. Smart new flooring was laid and the finished workplace was painted throughout with brand colours and designs.
