Free pantomime fun at intu Metrocentre
intu Metrocentre is inviting everyone to be their guest over the festive period with the north east’s only free Christmas pantomime - the Metrognomes’ Beauty and the Beast.
From Saturday 23 December until Sunday 7 January the shopping centre’s loveable mascots will be entertaining visitors of all ages, telling a story as old as time.
The Metrognomes’ Beauty and the Beast is the magical tale of a beautiful young girl who loses herself in a fairytale forest. There she finds an enchanted castle, lost in the mists of story and time, with a world of mysteries behind the castle door.
intu Metrocentre’s smallest shoppers will find Herbert, Sherbet, Maggot and Rusty taking centre stage in Exhibition Square, near Primark and with several performances every day there are plenty of opportunities for the girls and boys of the north east to catch the exciting new adventure.
Beauty and the Beast is part of a programme of free family entertainment provided by intu Metrocentre during the school holidays. The free Metrognomes’ shows have been running for over 20 years and in that time have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of children, with many families making the festive performances their go-to Christmas pantomime.
Helen Atkinson, marketing manager at intu Metrocentre, said:
“At intu Metrocentre we know that Christmas traditions create fabulous festive family memories - from finding a perfect bauble for the tree to enjoying a tasty hot chocolate with loved ones after an afternoon of Christmas shopping.
“Christmas pantomimes are a magical way of transporting little ones to a world of make-believe and our free Metrognomes’ show is sure to do just that. Beauty and the Beast is a much-loved tale which will get our smallest visitors singing, dancing and enjoying the festive season.”
