Estate Agency Perfects The Art Of Community Spirit

Pupils from Edna G Olds Academy in Lenton have been perfecting their drawing skills in a bid to adorn an estate agency window, whilst raising money for community meals for the underprivileged.

MS Estates, based on Lenton Boulevard, will be selling the drawings to raise money for the initiative called Tasty Tuesdays, provided by The Lenton Centre, where free community meals are served at The Thomas Helwys Baptist Church.

Around 50 people who are struggling with financial difficulties, physical or mental health or who are socially isolated, regularly benefit from the initiative.

For the charity’s special Christmas meal it is hoped that they will be providing a meal for 70-80 people with food donated by local people and businesses.

Michael Sahota, partner at MS Estates, said: “We wanted to try something different this year with our seasonal Christmas display, and we feel passionate about giving something back to the community in which we are based. So, joining forces with both one of our local schools and Tasty Tuesdays was a great way to spread some Christmas cheer.

“The drawings will be available to be sold for a donation by people from the local Lenton area as well as some of our clients from the wider Nottinghamshire area.

“We wanted to make at least £310 to donate to Tasty Tuesdays for their Christmas meal, which was on December 19.”

This Christmas Tasty Tuesday have also received gifts from the local community that were gifted to the diners during the meal.

“If anyone would prefer to donate in person, donations are welcome at The Lenton Centre.” Michael added.

The Children from Edna G Olds Academy have received a £10 book voucher each as well as some festive chocolate for their drawings, which has been donated by the estate agency, to thank them for their hard work.

Jenna Hubball, Community Development Manager at The Lenton Centre, said: ““We are very grateful for the continuous support that Tasty Tuesdays receives from MS Estates.

“We receive no funding for the food that we provide at Tasty Tuesdays, so it is very heart-warming to see the community coming together to support us with great initiatives such as the pictures.

“It is fantastic that the local school are involved, the children have produced fantastic vibrant art work and are no doubt proud to see it displayed in the MS Estates windows.”
