Regal London achieves planning permission for an east end office building

A privately held property development firm, Regal London, has achieved planning approval for an 11-storey office building comprising over 4,650 sqm of new commercial floorspace.

This new space is said to create around 357 jobs and will contribute to meeting the employment and regeneration aspirations of both the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the GLA in part of the Borough.

Designed by Scott Brownrigg, the building has been designed for flexible office use with efficient and open floorplans. It is situated at 73-77 Commercial Road.

Simon De Friend, joint CEO of Regal London, commented: “Tower Hamlet’s vision for Whitechapel, along with Crossrail, has spurred regeneration along Commercial Road, with occupiers seeking commercial space in an area that offers accessibility to Old Street.”

He also said that it is a great spot for arts and culture, and added: “This development is a key element in the continuing transformation of the area.”

This new development is Regal London’s first purely commercial project since its beginnings in 1998, marking a milestone in the company’s strategy to develop a wider mixed use portfolio in the capital.
