Carbon Zero Group’s hot tub business wins major industry award

A North Wales-based hot tub business that started trading just 20 months ago has scooped a prestigious UK industry award.

UK Leisure Living, which is part of the Carbon Zero Group, has been named spa retailer of the year at the UK Pool & Spa Awards 2017.

Businesses could not submit entries for the spa retailer of the year category, with the judges choosing the winner based on submissions for other gongs.

UK Leisure Living entered the best spa showroom and best UK team categories, with the judges picking out the Mochdre-based company for the highly sought-after spa retailer of the year award.

The annual UK Pool & Spa Awards celebrates work in the innovative and successful UK hot tub, pool and spa industry.

Gareth Jones, managing director at UK Leisure Living, said: “Winning this award has caused a real stir in the industry as it is unusual for a relatively young business like us to be named spa retailer of the year.

“We do things differently to other retailers. For example, we offer a seven-day spa service, where some customers can go from purchasing a hot tub to having it installed at their home in a week’s time. The typical industry standard is anything from four to 12 weeks.

“In addition, we are strong in after-sales customer care as we have a team of engineers on the road that service and maintain hot tubs.

“We also have our own charity foundation, the Carbon Zero Foundation, which provides help and support in the local community.

“We have an amazing team and this award recognises the role everyone of them plays in the success of the business.

“We are continuing to grow and I’m looking forward to developing UK Leisure Living and expanding across North Wales and Cheshire with a second showroom.”

Hot tubs have proved popular in the UK with approximately 20,000 sales in 2017, with a total market value of £140m retail sales.

In addition to UK Leisure Living, the Carbon Zero group runs businesses across a number of sectors including energy conservation, home improvements and training services.
