Property firm raises thousands of pounds for local children’s charity

A North East chartered surveyors and estate agents has raised thousands of pounds for a Durham children’s charity.

North East property firm Bradley Hall, along with its clients and guests, raised over £9,000 during its annual festive fundraiser for Heel and Toe children’s charity, based in Pelton.

The organisation provides free physical therapy for children with disabilities, and receives no government funding. Heel and Toe needs to raise £500,000 per year to maintain treating 125 children a week with lifechanging therapy.

Bradley Hall group director, Peter Bartley who is a trustee for the charity, said: “Heel and Toe are an independent local charity which completely relies on donations to provide much needed therapy for children with disabilities.

“We would also like to thank our guests and business partners who helped us fundraise at our annual festive fundraiser. We exceeded last year’s fundraising total thanks to our generous colleagues and guests.”

The money was raised through raffles and a silent auction. Donations were made by a range of local organisations including Ramside Hall Hotel and local football clubs.

Douglas Long, chief executive of Heel and Toe said, “Heel and Toe receives no government funding and needs over £500,000 each year to provide the vital services, so we are very grateful for this large donation.

“I would like to say a big thank you to Bradley Hall on behalf of the charity, the children who use our services and their families. The money will make a huge impact and allow us to deliver our much needed services to children in the North East who need it most.”

Heel and Toe, based in Pelton, Chester Le Street, was established in 2008 due to lack of therapy for children with physical disabilities provided by the NHS.

The charity provides 12,000 hours of free therapy including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language, conductive education and special educational needs tutoring.
