Durham's Esh Group announces CFO appointment
Construction company Esh Group has appointed Mark Sowerby as chief financial officer.
Mark joins the County Durham-headquartered Esh after more than 21 years at engineering consultancy WS Atkins plc, most recently as finance director of its worldwide project management business, Faithful+Gould.
He will lead the £242m turnover, multi-disciplinary group’s finance function.
After training with KPMG and holding senior level positions within WS Atkins plc, Mark is well equipped to take on the job.
He said: “I’m delighted to join Esh Group – a trusted construction name with a strong record in delivering value for communities.
“Esh Group’s rich portfolio of projects across the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Scotland make it an exciting time to join the business and its highly committed team.
“I look forward to playing a significant role in the ongoing success of Esh Group for its clients, staff and partners.”
Mark joins the group at a busy time thanks to the recent expansion of its Bowburn headquarters and major investment in its processes, including IT infrastructure.
Andy Radcliffe, chief executive of Esh Group, added: “Mark is a fantastic addition to the Esh Group team which includes a broad range of experience at the top tier of industry.
“His knowledge will help Esh to retain and build on its longstanding strong financial position. Our business is built on skilled people who are committed to constructing communities.”
