Hotel group acquires 80-bedroom Fylde Coast venue

A hotel group in the North West is bringing its expansion plans to fruition with the acquisition of a venue on the Fylde Coast.

HY Hotels purchased the Lindum Hotel in Lytham St Annes from the Rowley family, who have operated the business for over 50 years.

Located on South Promenade, the venue comprises 80 en-suite bedrooms along with a restaurant and function space.

Dan Yates, the owner of HY Hotels, said the deal is part of his company’s plan to grow its presence in the North West.

He is confirmed that HY Hotels is likely to make further acquisitions in Blackpool and Preston.

The company currently operates seven sites, among them Howarth House Hotel and Chadwick Hotel in St Annes, Ainscow Hotel in Manchester and The Block serviced apartments in Liverpool.

Dan commented: “We saw this as a great acquisition to complement both businesses. We’re now working with the former owners to plan an easy transaction to secure the future of both the hotel and the staff employed there, and take it onto new levels of success.

“We’ve got some great plans for the hotel and believe it will continue to attract visitors to the Fylde Coast for years to come.”

He added: “HY Hotels has grown well over the past couple of years and the senior management team is now looking at sites in Blackpool, Preston and further afield.”

David Hill, partner in the commercial property team at law firm Napthens, provided legal advice on the transaction.

A NatWest team led by relationship director John Platt gave funding advice. RSM provided accountancy services.

Napthens’ David Hill said: “The Lindum Hotel has been a popular venue on the Fylde Coast for generations, and this acquisition will continue that history.”

John Platt, from NatWest, said of the deal: “HY Hotels has an excellent portfolio of hotels across the North West and this latest acquisition enhances their offering.

“We wish Dan and HY Hotels every success for the future.”
