Barratt set to host launch event for Filwood Park development in Bristol
Buyers looking to live near Bristol are invited to a special event at the end of January to learn more about Filwood Park, a prestigious new Barratt development on the edge of the city. Working in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Barratt is holding An Introduction to Filwood Park at Filwood Community Centre on Thursday January 25. With the event lasting from 6pm until 8pm, guests can enjoy light refreshments and learn more about this exciting new development and meet members of both Barratt and the HCA. On hand will be local estate agents and independent mortgage advisers. A total of 150 new homes are being built on the site which is owned by the HCA. It was formerly the site of support buildings for the old Bristol (Whitchurch) Airport and an area of open land. There’s a range of two, three and four bedroom homes which will be built to Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes with bespoke urban designs creating a landmark development. A key feature will be a crescent of homes overlooking the park. Just three miles south of the city centre and with easy access to the redeveloped A4174 and the new metro link, Filwood Park is perfect for commuters. Bristol Airport is just over seven miles away. Within walking distance, you will find a cinema, restaurants, school and supermarkets,
The new development is set to enhance this area of Bristol and as such is extremely important to Barratt, supporting more than 450 jobs during the construction and sales phases and providing much needed new homes for the area. In addition to the homes, five-star developer Barratt Homes will be creating parkland at the heart of the development which boasts plenty of room for recreational use. There will also be a focus on ecology with new native trees planted for shelter and wildlife and marginal planting and meadow grass to create habitats for insects. Andrea Pilgrim, Barratt sales director in Bristol, said: “We are all very excited about Filwood Park. It really offers the best of both worlds: it’s perfectly positioned for anyone wanting to live close to Bristol – voted the best city to live in by The Sunday Times - and yet enjoy the benefits of being part of a really welcoming community. For anyone who wants to learn more, we’d love to see them at our special event on January 25!”
