The Market Creative unveils Housing Units rebrand
The Market Creative has developed a new brand identity for Manchester home furnishing store, Housing Units.
The rebrand aims to better communicate Housing Units breadth of range, helping to differentiate the store from its competitors. The proposition has been brought to life with a new logo, colour palette, typography and tone of voice.
Strapline “the home department store” will sit alongside the new square-shaped logo that has moved to the abbreviation of Housing Units, ‘hu’.
The lighter typeface enhances the new contemporary look for the brand, which is complemented by a richer more premium green. White replaces previous gold accents.
The Market Creative has applied the rebrand to Housing Units winter campaign, introducing red to the colour palette to communicate sale activity.
Working with Chief Productions, the marketing agency created two 10-second TV ads, highlighting living room and dining room furniture. They will run on ITV Granada until the end of February.
The winter campaign also includes a 30-second radio ad, airing on Smooth and Key 103, as well as instore materials and a new sales brochure.
The rebrand will be rolled out across all touchpoints in 2018.
Sue Benson, Managing Director at The Market Creative said: “We needed to communicate the extent and premium quality of what Housing Units has to offer. We have achieved this by embracing the concept of a department store and using a richer, more confident colour palette. The fresh new look is contemporary and helps to tell the full story of Housing Units.”
Housing Units’ 10 acre site in Failsworth comprises 26 departments and more than 30,000 products, spanning home furnishings and gifts to lighting, kitchens and bathrooms.
Nick Fox, CEO of Housing Units said: “We are made up of an amazing selection of departments. This new look is a celebration of how each of them is filled with amazing expertise, and everything our customers could possibly want to furnish their homes. By highlighting the extent of what we offer, we hope to compel more people to visit.” This is the first project The Market Creative has undertaken for Housing Units since it was appointed as its retained marketing agency last year.
