Inside the £1.2m go-kart centre creating 40 jobs in Preston
Indoor karting operator TeamSport has secured planning consent to open a new centre near Preston.
South Ribble Council gave the greenlight for the Surrey-headquartered firm to launch a £1.2m racing facility, and create around 40 jobs, on Walton Summit Industrial Estate in Bamber Bridge.
Motor enthusiasts and thrill seekers will be able to compete on two multi-level circuits spread across three floors.
TeamSport said the courses, which can accommodate up to 20 racers at any given time, can be combined to provide a single extended go-karting experience.
Dominic Gaynor, TeamSport Karting managing director, said: “We’re delighted to have received permission to open and are looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors to the track.
“2017 marks TeamSport’s 25th birthday and we’re thrilled to announce the opening of our 25th track in our celebratory year.”
He added: “Our fantastic choice of race events and excellent value karting offers will ensure karting is accessible to everyone looking for an adrenaline fuelled, fun day out.”
Work on the facility is due to start early next year for an opening in Summer 2019.
