Plastic card manufacturer doubles capacity at Lancashire plant

Manufacturer Nitecrest has given its production capabilities a boost with the installation of two new plastic card machines.

The company, already among Europe’s biggest in terms of capacity, is set to double the production of speciality shaped cards at its 120,000 sq ft facility in Lancashire.

Specifically, Nitecrest will use the machines to create M6 and Key Tag cards.

The M6 is a standard plastic card with an integrated hanging piece for the purposes of POS display, and is commonly used by retailers for gift cards. Key tags are those used by businesses as membership and loyalty cards.

Ronnie Hart, managing director at Nitecrest, said: “This is a really exciting time for Nitecrest, we are heading into 2018 with a huge increase in capacity for our speciality shaped cards, reacting to market trends and offering clients unrivalled lead times.

“The increased capacity will also support our Simply Plastic Cards business which produces small and medium sized businesses with a range of card options and offers trade discount to printers and print management companies.”

From its base in Leyland, Nitecrest produces millions of gift, loyalty, ID, access and membership cards, as well as VISA and MasterCard bank cards, on a daily basis.
