Company Provides a Ray of Sunshine for Tram Travellers

A Nottingham based travel company has sponsored one of the city’s tram stops thanks to a partnership with major tour operator Jet2holidays.

Skills Holidays’ Worldwide Travel Shop in Beeston also acts as an independent travel agent offering Holidays worldwide for their customers and booking European Holidays on behalf of Jet2Holidays.

As a result of the partnership Jet2holidays paid for Skills to sponsor the Chilwell Road tram stop, which is opposite the office. Tram travellers will now be able to see a poster advertising Skills’ holidays.

Natalie Legge, retail sales manager for Skills Holidays, said: “Jet2holidays are one of the top tour operators for our customers. A couple of years ago the company decided to deal with independent travel agents which could help to expand business for them. Since the partnership formed, business has also increased for Skills and we have seen increased footfall into our Beeston branch.”

Since the partnership began, business has increased for Skills 112 per cent year-on-year, beating Jet2holiday’s target of 50 per cent. Natalie added: “As an independent travel agent we get our customers the holiday they are looking for with the right tour operator, ensuring they have the best holiday. Customers can have confidence that when they book a Jet2holiday with us, the ladies in the Beeston branch have more than 40 years’ travel experience between them. They therefore have the knowledge to find the right holiday for the right customer, which is fantastic.”

Holidays that can be booked at the Skills Holidays’ Worldwide Travel Shop include villa, city and ski breaks to destinations such as Greece, Spain, Italy and Croatia. A spokesperson for Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Skills Worldwide Travel and we are confident that this advert will help spread some sunshine in Beeston.

“We have a fantastic relationship with Skills Worldwide Travel, and we have worked on a number of joint marketing initiatives together. This is typical of the way that Jet2holidays supports independent travel agents to help them grow their businesses, and we have seen some great results through that approach here in Beeston the team at Skills. We look forward to continuing that for a long time to come, as we continue to grow at East Midlands Airport.”
