North East businessman sets sight on New York with new video surveillance tech

After significant interest from UK retailers, the world’s first Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) is aiming to expand and grow across the Atlantic.

Ocucon has been co-founded by North East-based Gary Trotter, who is travelling to America’s east coast this week for various business meetings with big retailers and security companies.

Ocucon has seen interest from numerous UK supermarkets since its launch three months ago. Gary will use his trip to New York to build connections and prompt the next stage of growth.

He commented: “We’re delighted to be seeing the levels of interest in Ocucon and to already be in a position to target America with our groundbreaking new surveillance technology.

“It’s been a busy couple of months for us since our launch and we can’t wait to see what 2018 holds for the business.”

Establishing a new ground in surveillance technology, Ocucon is said to deliver a cloud-based storage and retrieval platform, combining intelligent data analytics with the facility to store, analyse and retrieve HD video surveillance footage.

It is the first technology of its kind to offer unlimited cloud-based storage as a service.

Launched in October 2017, Ocucon is removing physical limitations on the amount of surveillance footage an organisation can save.

It is expected to be of interest to any organisation capturing significant amounts of CCTV data, such as transport hubs or local authorities.
