North East Site Manager Scoops Top Award With Miller Homes

A North East site manager is celebrating his success at the Miller Homes Annual Safety, Health & Environment Awards.

Simon Robson, senior site manager at Hunters Fold in Middleton St George, was named a joint national winner alongside Jim Martin, project manager at Ferrygate Meadow in North Berwick.

The awards, which took place at The Principal Hotel in Edinburgh, are now in their sixth year, and recognise the work which is undertaken to manage standards in safety, health and environment on Miller Homes’ developments.

Commended for his ownership of the North East site, Simon, from Billingham, received the accolade for his efficient management of contractors and teams to achieve a high quality standard of build, and his dedication to seeking effective solutions to overcome potential issues surrounding health and safety.

Patrick Arkle, regional managing director at Miller Homes North East, said: “It’s fantastic to see Simon Robson win this national award, in recognition of his strong leadership at our Hunters Fold development.

“We pride ourselves on building high quality homes and creating sustainable communities across the region, and this can only be achieved with dedicated employees all working towards the same goal. Health and safety on site is an integral part of this, so it’s important for us to have the right team in place.

“Simon’s win is testament to the hard work of our North East team, and I am confident that this success will continue as we increase our presence across the region starting with the launch of our most recent development, Shoreland Park in Hadston.”

Commenting on his award win, Simon said: “I take pride in my role as senior site manager and I value safety, health and the environment as top priority.

“It’s excellent to have this recognised in the national awards and I’m honoured to have won alongside Jim Martin. It’s a fantastic achievement for the team at Hunters Fold who consistently produce a high standard of work on site.”
