Contractor to install high-gloss black cladding at Manchester’s new Vita Student site

Rainscreen cladding contractor Horbury Facades has landed a contract to detail, supply and install a façade on Manchester’s new Vita Student site.

The firm, part of Yorkshire-headquartered building services business Horbury Group, will work alongside 5Plus Architects as it installs high-gloss black metallic panels on the ground and first floor of the accommodation.

Based on Nobel Way, the scheme forms part of the city’s £750m Circle Square development, a multi-phase project to repurpose the former Manchester BBC site for commercial, residential and leisure purposes.

Phase one of the development is due for completion in March 2018.

Horbury Facades general manager Adrian Storey said: “The Vita Student building has an extremely complex façade, especially because of its intricate geometric design at ground floor level.

“Our team is very experienced in installing challenging facades of this type and its inspired use of high gloss panels mean it will be one of the most innovative and eye-catching buildings within the new Circle Square development.”
