Escrick Park Estate fully occupied following moves by trio of new businesses

The Escrick Park Estate, between York and Selby, is now fully occupied.

Three North Yorkshire companies have recently relocated to the estate, which brings the total number of jobs created there to 130.

Escrick Park has been owned and managed by the Forbes Adam family for the past 350 years.

Seven redundant farmsteads on the park, east of the A19, have undergone a £1.4m refurbishment.

The new occupiers on the estate are Once Upon A Dress, The Bloody Stuff and C-Kore.

Once Upon A Dress, the bespoke bridal dressmaker and seamstress, has taken 1,200 sq ft at 5 Park Court on the estate.

Rachel Davis of Once Upon A Dress said: “My colleague Samantha Rowley and I set up the business three years ago with the dream of moving into a barn conversion. When we first started, it was just the two of us. Now we’ve grown into a group of five.

“Moving to Park Court has been such an exciting adventure for us. It’s been lovely to see our own ideas put forward into our refurbishment to transform this beautiful building into our dream work place.

“Working in the fast-paced bridal world, we need to keep up to date with the current trends. Our expansion allows us to do this. We also moved to Escrick because of the beautiful location, and the easy commute from York for both our staff and clients.”

Film and TV props and effects company, The Bloody Stuff, has made the move to the 860 sq ft Pallion building at Whinchat.

Steven Herbert, production direction at The Bloody Stuff, commented: “This is the ideal location for us. The rural setting is perfect and the character of our building makes for a stimulating working environment.

“Other types of accommodation, such as light industrial warehouses, just aren’t appropriate for what we do. We haven’t been here long, but we already love our new home. It also helps we are close to Screen Yorkshire’s stunning headquarters at Church Fenton.”

Finally, C-Kore has taken 1,300 sq ft at 3 Bramley’s Barn in the Menagerie.

Tim Overfield, C-Kore’s managing director, said: “We are a fast-developing, high technology company operating in the subsea oil industry.

“We have been searching for suitable high-quality business premises for some time and are delighted to be moving into Escrick Park. We look forward to operating from this great location.”

Charles Forbes Adam, the owner and developer of Escrick Park, commented: “We are delighted to welcome these three thriving – and very different - companies to our business park, especially as that means we are now full.

“Their arrival is a ringing endorsement of the quality of our rural offices, which are attracting new occupiers in challenging, post-Brexit economic times.

“We are tremendously proud of creating a serious business park, with top-class facilities, within a rural idyll. We believe Escrick Park, which comprises a number of self-contained hi-spec office developments and 14 units for light industry, has an exceptional and inspiring working environment which is unrivalled in the south York and Selby areas.”
