Leading director joins IoD North Wales committee

A director at an engineering, environmental, and planning consultancy has joined the Institute of Directors (IoD) North Wales committee.

Donna Milne has played an integral role in the growth of Caulmert, which has offices in St Asaph and Bangor.

And now the 37-year-old is volunteering her time to help the IoD achieve its goals in the region over the coming 12 months.

The IoD is the longest-standing organisation to serve and support business leaders, with more than 100 years of service in raising professional standards.

Donna said: “I have been a member of the IoD for a number of years and not only have I benefitted as an individual, Caulmert has, too. I’m keen to ensure companies in North Wales are not only aware of the IoD but take advantage of the member benefits.

“The committee has carried out a fantastic job over the last few years and there is a lot of experience and knowledge around the table. I’m hoping to bring a fresh pair of eyes, as well as thoughts and feedback from colleagues and contacts about the IoD.”

Donna was Caulmert’s first employee, joining the two founders on day one of trading. She was instrumental in drawing up the business plan and financial model at the outset, and her role grew as the company did.

Now employing 50, Donna has introduced and implemented multiple internal systems and processes, as well as developed and strengthened the management team to support the board, which Donna sits on.

Employee-owned Caulmert, which was founded in 2009, is on track to meet an ambitious 15-year growth plan that would see it employ 250 people by 2024.

“She is a shining light not just for females in our industry, but for business people in all sectors.

“I’m sure she will be a valuable asset for the IoD in North Wales.”
