Wedding expert joins Gisborough’s growing team

Gisborough Hall has recruited a new wedding co-ordinator to help manage demand for its popular range of weddings.

Lindsey Watson, from Ingleby Barwick, will be responsible for planning the hotel’s weddings and joins Gisborough Hall’s six-strong wedding and events’ team.

Lindsey brings with her over a decade of experience in customer service and events’ management having previously worked for a country house hotel in Yorkshire and also in sales and customer service for AXA Insurance and Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

Mum-of-two Lindsey is in the process of completing her level 4 diploma in wedding venue co-ordination with the Wedding Planning Academy UK.

Gisborough Hall has been reinforcing its wedding and events’ team since it became a fully-independent and self-managed hotel last April. As well as its traditional style weddings, the hotel also offers more unusual themes including Royal, Afternoon Tea and Asian weddings.

Speaking about her new role at Gisborough Hall, Lindsey said: “I’m very fortunate to be joining an experienced team with so much knowledge about the industry and I am looking forward to adding to that. Gisborough offers such a variety of wedding options and we have some exciting plans for the coming months.”

Ruairidh Taylor, hotel manager, said: “Lindsey brings with her a wealth of varied experience that will further enhance our team. It’s a very important time for us as we develop what we offer across Gisborough Hall as we continue to grow as a family-run venue.”

The luxury, four-star hotel, on the outskirts of Guisborough, was named as one of TripAdvisor’s top-rated places to stay over the summer, gaining another Certificate of Excellence for its exemplary standards and service.

In addition, Gisborough Hall is also one of TripAdvisor’s ‘Green Leader’ award holders in recognition of its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices.

In April, Gisborough Hall became a fully-independent hotel for the first time since it opened in 2002 and, in the same month, an AA inspection rated Gisborough Hall as one of the top destinations in the North East and North Yorkshire. The hotel received its best inspection to date and was awarded the AA’s four ‘Silver Star’ rating for its overall quality and two AA Rosettes for its food. The silver stars mark Gisborough Hall out as being of superior quality and are one of the highest hotel accolades available in the UK.

Gisborough Hall dates back to 1857 and the grade II-listed country house was fully restored in 2002.

The country hall employs a team of 105 local people across the hotel, and this will increase further in the coming year with the creation of a new multi-million-pound spa which it’s hoped will be open by Christmas 2019.
