Half-year revenues pass £73m at Revolution Bars Group
Bar operator Revolution Bars Group plc has reported double-digit revenue growth for the first half of its 2017/18 financial year.
The Tameside-headquartered company achieved sales of £73.7m in the 26 weeks to December 30, up 10.6% against the year previous.
Trading for the Christmas and New Year period, the four weeks to December 31, was up 5.9% compared with December 2016.
The group, which today trades across 72 bars in the UK under the Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba brands, said the figure was achieved despite “inclement weather” hitting the UK in mid-December and during the Christmas week.
It represents Revolution’s fifth consecutive year of record festive period sales.
Keith Edelman, executive chairman at Revolution Bars Group, said: “I am delighted with our sales performance in the second quarter and over Christmas.
“This is the fifth year that the group has recorded record results over the key trading period and again demonstrates the appeal of our brands.”
He added: “This excellent result underlines that the Group is delivering on its strategy of expanding the two brands whilst continuing to drive like for like growth in the core estate.”
