Businesses’ chance to help shape the county’s biggest science festival

The organisers of Lancashire’s biggest science festival are calling upon the county’s businesses to get involved in this year’s event.

2018 marks the seventh year of the multi-award winning Lancashire Science Festival, which is organised by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

The three-day event attracts thousands of visitors from across the North West every year, engaging young people and the local community in a programme of activities, workshops and interactive demonstrations related to science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and more.

Businesses can support the event in a number of ways, from the donation of equipment or services, by hosting workshops and showcasing their organisation on an interactive stand.

There’s also a range of sponsorship packages available, including exhibition stands, advertisement opportunities and bespoke packages to meet individual requirements.

The theme for the 2018 Lancashire Science Festival, which will run between June 28-30, is ‘Through the Ages.’

2018 also marks 190 years since UCLan was founded in 1828 as the ‘Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge.’

Dr Liz Granger, Festival Director, said: “This is a unique opportunity for businesses and organisations to get involved in the early stages of planning for the Lancashire Science Festival. Our aim is always amaze and engage the future generation and leave all visitors feeling inspired and local businesses have an important role to play in this.

“It’s not just about gaining invaluable exposure for your business to thousands of people, getting behind the Lancashire Science Festival is also the perfect opportunity to give back to the local community.

“This is a fantastic event enjoyed by thousands and we really rely upon our sponsors, contributors and volunteers so if you think you can play a part in supporting the festival, get in touch.”
