Autism Together appoints accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth

North West charity Autism Together has appointed Liverpool accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth as its auditors and to provide support with a range of financial and business advice services.

Following a competitive tender process Mitchell Charlesworth was chosen to support the charity with a range of specialist advice, including audit, accounts, tax and VAT services.

Autism Together is a multi award-winning charity and service provider supporting over 400 people on the autism spectrum. Founded in Wirral in 1968 by a group of concerned parents, the charity now employs over a thousand staff and has operations in North Wales, Merseyside and Cheshire.

The charity will this year mark its fiftieth anniversary by launching its biggest ever fundraising appeal, the Future 50 appeal (www.autismtogether.co.uk/future50). In addition, it acts as a voice for people on the autism spectrum in the North West and is campaigning for Liverpool to be the UK’s leading autism-friendly city (www.autismfriendlyliverpool.com) and for ‘mate crime’ (the bullying and manipulation of vulnerable people) to be recognised in law (www.autismtogether.co.uk/mate-crime-in-merseyside)

Robin Bush, CEO of Autism Together, said: “We’ve a busy and exciting few years ahead of us as we work to fulfil our ambitions. I’m sure our whole autism community – our service users, our families and carers and our staff – will benefit from having Mitchell Charlesworth as part of the team.”

Mitchell Charlesworth partner Philip Griffiths, who will be advising Autism Together, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Autism Together, a high profile, award-winning charity which provides a much-needed service across Wirral and beyond. We are looking forward to supporting and working in partnership with Robin and his team by providing business and financial advice.”

Mitchell Charlesworth has a strong track record and reputation in the charity and not-for-profit sector advising more than fifty registered charities across the North West.
