Energy Assets Appoints Colin Lynch to Lead Executive Team

Colin Lynch has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Energy Assets Group, one of Britain’s leading independent metering services and utility construction and asset management companies.

He takes over the role from Phil Bellamy-Lee, who remains a Group Director and will provide on-going strategic and key customer support to a new corporate structure that sees Dave Sing become Group Managing Director of the asset management business stream, and Craig Topley Group Managing Director of network asset construction activities. John McMorrow will continue in his role as Chief Financial Officer.

Phil Bellamy-Lee commented: “Colin Lynch joined Energy Assets following the acquisition of Blyth Utilities in December 2015 and had become a key member of the senior management team and operational board. In his new role as CEO, he will oversee the company’s new corporate structure, which will provide greater clarity to the asset management and construction streams of the business. Colin’s extensive experience in the utility sector is a great advantage to Energy Assets both in the continuation of supporting our existing customers and the delivery of our growth strategy.”

Colin Lynch said: “Energy Assets has built a reputation for excellent service delivery and customer support, and the continuation of this great strength will remain key to my role moving forwards. At the same time there are great opportunities opening up for Energy Assets in areas such as local energy network ownership and management, and in building a nationwide utility construction business. I am very much looking forward to implementing the corporate strategy of delivering continuous improvement and value to our existing customers, driving growth in these new areas of activity and creating value for our expanding customer base.”

Dave Sing is appointed Group Managing Director, responsible for Assets.

Since joining Energy Assets, Dave has played a lead role in the development of the Group’s electricity metering business following its acquisition from Bglobal plc in April 2014. In his new role, Dave will continue to be responsible for supporting our customers in the delivery of gas and electricity metering activities and associated data services. In addition, he will add the Group’s growing involvement in local gas and electricity network ownership to his responsibilities.

Craig Topley is appointed Group Managing Director, responsible for Network Construction. Craig will have responsibility for all Group network construction activities, with Energy Assets Utilities and its subsidiaries including Exoteric, SA Gas and Dragon Infrastructure Solutions.

His operational, engineering, commercial and managerial experience will be invaluable in shaping and growing the Group’s network construction offer across Britain.

These three new appointments, together with John McMorrow, Chief Financial Officer, make up the new Energy Assets Group executive team ensuring that the business has the strength and depth in its senior team to continue the successful evolution and growth that the business has seen to date.
