Manchester startup GoodBox in seven-figure crowdfund
North West tech startup GoodBox has raised millions on crowdfunding platform Seedrs.
The Manchester-based company launched the campaign last year and has now surpassed its £2.4m target by 4%, pulling in £2,503,930.
More than 665 investors from over 30 countries backed the campaign, which is expected to close this week.
GoodBox is the company behind a contactless payment terminal that makes it easy for museums and other causes to take card donations.
In addition to taking the payment, the system can also switch between campaigns and show passersby multimedia to encourage them to donate.
Today, Goodbox terminals are used across 12 Church of England cathedrals, five hospitals and a number of busy tourist attractions, including the Natural History Museum and the National Portrait Gallery.
