Blackpool builders chosen for 220,000 sq ft student scheme in Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter
Building firm Create Construction has secured a £36m student accommodation project.
The Blackpool-based company was chosen by property investment firm Niveda to build The Weavers, a 220,000 sq ft complex in Liverpool’s £2bn Knowledge Quarter.
Located on Norton Street, the development will house 748 beds across three blocks of eight, 11 and 15 storeys.
The Weavers will also feature social areas, gym space, laundry facilities and ground-floor retail units.
Create Construction MD Adrian Tottey said: “This is our first contract for Niveda and we are delighted to be working with another key player in the residential arena.
“This large-scale project builds on our significant portfolio of work within the student housing sector.”
Niveda Realty Ltd director Bhavik J Shah commented: “We are delighted to have appointed Create Construction to deliver our flagship student scheme in Liverpool.
“Create’s knowledge of this sector and their excellent team will enable us to deliver an iconic building in Liverpool. We look forward to working with Create on this and future projects.”
