Domiciliary care provider Routes Healthcare appoints new CEO
Elaine Young has been appointed as chief executive office of Routes Healthcare, one of the largest providers of health and social care in the north of England. The appointment forms part of a strategic plan for the growth of the business following the investment by private equity firm Key Capital Partners (KCP) in September 2016.
Elaine has extensive experience working as a board level senior executive in healthcare joining from Partnerships in Children’s Services (PiCS), a high quality national children’s care services provider, where she spent three and a half years as group chief executive. Prior to that, she was managing director–hospitals for BMI Healthcare; and she also spent three years as chief executive of United Commissioning, transitioning Buckinghamshire’s health economy to clinical commissioning groups.
With a strong track record in the healthcare sector, Elaine’s skills include driving business growth, initiating and implementing complex change, and improving operational efficiency and service delivery.
Mike Fell, investment partner at KCP and board member of Routes Healthcare, comments: “Trusted by Clinical Commissioning Groups, Routes Healthcare has already established a strong reputation for delivering high quality, person centered care. We believe that, with her deep understanding of the healthcare sector, Elaine is the right person to keep this focus on always putting the patient first as we work to extend the business’s geographic reach and continued growth.”
Elaine comments: “This is an exciting opportunity to lead a successful and well-regarded healthcare organisation which has already achieved significant organic growth. The investment by KCP, together with their knowledge of the sector and strategic advice, will enable us to take the business to the next stage of its development as we continue to expand the network of branches while retaining our commitment to always delivering the best care possible.”
Macclesfield-head quartered Routes Healthcare offers a wide range of services including domiciliary community care, complex care and short and long term cover in nursing and residential homes, hospitals and respite centres. Founded in 2005 by director Andrew Healey, the business has achieved significant organic growth in recent years expanding to 10 branches, including one by acquisition, and serves public sector bodies, blue chip organisations, SMEs and private individuals. It acts as a fully integrated, high acuity domiciliary care provider and is CQC registered.
The branch network, covering many parts of the North of England, is extensive and located within: Blackpool, Macclesfield, Cheadle, Liverpool, Preston, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Bradford, Settle, Newcastle and Tameside.
KCP has a strong track record of adding value to businesses in the healthcare sector including experience with Nurse Plus and Hallam Medical.
