Royal Heritage Stately Home Celebrates Milestone 100th Wedding

Tees Valley newlyweds Emma and Steven Wallace took centre stage this weekend to celebrate their vows at Rudby Hall, and became the former royal residence’s 100th wedding since opening in 2014.

The Stockton-based couple, both aged 35, married on Saturday February 3rd 2018 in front of family and friends at All Saint’s Church in Hutton Rudby and celebrated the special occasion at the Grade II* Listed country home.

Rudby Hall was built in 1838 for the daughter of King William IV, Lady Amelia Cary and her husband the 10th Viscount Falkland.

Since the first nuptial celebration held in May 2014, Rudby Hall has built a reputation as an exclusive use luxury venue for weddings, events and private hire, winning national accolades and a host of high profile guests, including Chris Evans, Natalie Lowe and Liam Gallagher. In addition to one hundred weddings the privately-owned home has also hosted more than 60 private parties and events.

University event agent Emma, wore a Grecian inspired Justin Alexander A-line bridal-gown with a detailed bodice of diamonds and beading, whilst Steven, who is stationed at Colchester Garrison as a Sergeant in the Armed Forces, wore his number one uniform.

“This weekend was a dream come true for us both; every moment of the wedding was exactly how we envisioned it and we couldn’t be happier to be husband and wife,” said Emma.

“As part of my role as an event planner, and with previous experience of working in hotels in the North East, I knew from the moment we got engaged that Rudby Hall was the venue for us. We wanted flexibility to create our own bespoke celebration. We designed every part of our experience from the fine dining, decoration and entertainment.”

The couple got engaged on December 14th 2016 whilst in Iceland on holiday after dating for more than two years.

Rudby Hall is an authentic stately home with 13 luxurious bedrooms and 10 acres of secluded grounds overlooking the North York Moors.

Owner and host Sandra Johnson, said: “We were honoured to play host to Emma and Steven’s wedding over the full weekend. It has truly been wonderful to welcome couples and help them create their unique wedding vision. We feel privileged to host their celebrations and enable them to make such joyful memories in this beautiful regal home, which becomes entirely theirs for several days.

“By giving them flexibility and freedom we are able to enhance their experience by dedicating our bespoke and personal service to them and their guests for the entire weekend. The key to our success is a unique offering, where the privacy of an elegant home with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere is combined with a sophisticated butler style service. We are incredibly proud of the reputation we have built as a luxury private venue offering this unique service and we are continuing to go from strength-to-strength.”
