320,000 sq ft Doncaster warehouse investment acquired in £22m deal
A 320,000 sq ft warehouse investment in Doncaster has been acquired for a price in excess of £22m.
Acting on behalf of a local authority pension fund, the Capital Markets team at CBRE in Leeds purchased the property from a private investor. Savills’ Leeds office advised the vendor.
Located on Omega Boulevard, Capitol Park in Thorne, the freehold property comprises a manufacturing/distribution facility situated close to Junction 6 of the M18 fully let to kitchen manufacturer, Omega PLC until 2034.
Capitol Park forms part of one of the UK’s most successful manufacturing and distribution hubs in the north of England.
The area has seen a huge amount of occupier take up in recent years, including the letting of 1.3 million sq.ft to the world’s largest online retailer Amazon at the nearby iPort.
Alex Whiting, senior director of Capital Markets at CBRE in Leeds, commented: “The property is in a prime location and is let to a strong tenant who have invested heavily in the building over recent years.
“The tenant continues to grow their business and employ more local staff. This acquisition is further evidence of the strength of the South Yorkshire market and positive news for the Yorkshire region as a whole. “
CBRE’s in house multi-disciplinary Building Consultancy team in Leeds led by James Forth, who managed the pre-acquisition building survey and full technical due diligence process on behalf of the purchaser.
