Digital marketing agency offers services to Lagan's Foundation charity

Bolton based digital marketing agency Tao Digital have celebrated their recent success by giving something back to the community that has supported Co-Founder Matt Tomkin and his business ventures over the last 10 years.

Tao Digital Marketing was launched in 2017 by Tomkin and his business partner Dave Thornton offering Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), paid marketing (PPC), social media campaigns, digital PR and marketing automation. Despite being in its infancy, the agency already boast a strong portfolio of clients ranging from EDP-UK to The Parr Group.

Reflecting on their success since starting the agency Tomkin and his team wanted to work on something other than pure profit-making activity which is when they reached out to local charity, Lagan’s Foundation. Tomkin says “Our company ethos includes practices that help our local community. We believe that the best way in which we can support non-profit organisations and charities is to offer something that we are specialists in that could make a difference and that’s our digital marketing expertise.” Lagan’s Foundation was set up in the name of Horwich born Lagan Katherine Anne Grant who lost her fight for life in April, 2011 aged just 15 weeks after she was born with CHD. Lagan’s parents Carren Bell and Barry Grant, wanted “something positive” to come out of their loss and started Lagan’s Foundation to help children with the condition. It is the only organisation of its kind to provide regular volunteer support at home for children with CHD and/or feeding difficulties.

As a child born with congenital heart defects, Lagan was in and out of hospital, receiving her treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. As her condition deteriorated, Lagan suffered from a single ventricular heart, or “half a working heart” and required continuous care and feeding.

On why Tao Digital chose to work specifically with Lagans Foundation, Co-Founder Matt Tomkin explains “It has long been a local charity that has always tugged at my heartstrings for the work that they do. Over the last few years, I have seen the organisation grow from a small entity to now providing help and support throughout the UK, working tirelessly to help people who need it most. Having young children myself, I don’t know how some of the people manage to cope, and if I can do my bit to help get the charity in front of more people who need the help then I am more than happy to do so. Here’s to the next step up the growth ladder.”

Tao Digital have provided the charity with a full range of services including Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), paid search support along with helping with their general marketing activity. In the short time since working together, this partnership has already given The Foundation access to the Google Non-Profits program which allows them to tap into $10,000 per month of Google Adwords spend per month to help promote the charity online.

Lagan’s Mother Carren Bell tells us “I’ve known Matt for a number of years and in that time he has given us advice when needed and helped support the charity in other ways. But we are now looking at the sustainability of the organisation and we need to be in front of people at the right time. The results that we have achieved so far are invaluable in doing this, we are looking to build the organic traffic to the site and we are confident that Matt and his team will enable us to do so.”

Tomkin says “When we set out, we wanted to create an agency that not only helped established online companies grow but also assist those who are very much in their infancy and are not sure where to start with online marketing in order to allow them to prosper and succeed. Being able to offer this support to Lagan’s Foundation who would not otherwise have the skills or funding to access this has been really rewarding and we are thrilled with how the partnership is going and the results we have had already. The Foundation have just launched their new website so this really is just the beginning.’
