City law firm to become global legal network’s exclusive UK rep
Law firm ELS Legal has become a member of international legal network Cathay Associates.
The City of London-based commercial and real estate law specialist will be the sole representative of the network in the UK.
Cathay Associates has offices in over 50 countries. It provides cross-jurisdictional legal services for Chinese enterprises with global strategies.
For each jurisdiction the group chooses one representative, which then has exclusivity for all work generated for that country.
As part of Cathay Associates, ELS Legal will guide overseas clients through the complex English legal system.
Services will include advising on takeovers, investment, residential and commercial real estate matters and corporate litigation.
ELS Legal managing partner Richard Spector said: “This is a significant milestone for the firm.
“We share Cathay Associates’ vision to deliver exceptional legal services across the globe and are proud to announce our exclusive UK membership of a leading international legal network.”
He added: “China’s Going Out policy, One Belt One Road Initiative and the rapid internationalisation of the Chinese yuan is bringing more and more investment to the UK and we are ready to build on our already strong connection with overseas businesses.”
