Leeds internet security firm looks to become 'technology powerhouse' with new recruitment drive

Smoothwall, a developer of web filtering and monitoring solutions, has announced expansion plans for the business in Leeds.

To grow its Leeds office, Smoothwall is looking to fill a large number of technical roles to bolster its software development and service support offering.

The tech company, based in Leeds Valley Park, is recruiting over 20 positions with a particular focus on software engineering and development.

Smoothwall is working exclusively with Hays on this project.

Douglas Hanley, Interim CTO at Smoothwall, said: “This year really represents a step-change for us, as we look to draw on the extremely talented pool of technology experts in Leeds and beyond.

“For years, many technology companies have focussed their efforts on London, but there is a growing, buzzing community of tech experts here and we’re thrilled to be opening up even more of our doors to them.

“As we look to grow our team of software engineers in the Leeds office, I can really see the company become a technology powerhouse for the region – there’s never been a more exciting time to work in this industry.”

Smoothwall’s drive for recruiting staff comes as the company announces plans for a national roadshow of online safety workshops across the UK, starting in Leeds on 14th March, followed by Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and finally London on 17th October.

The internet safety company recently held a two-day workshop at Rye St Antony School in Oxford as part of Safer Internet Day.
